Annoying headaches!!!!!

Hi girls!

I noticed someone posted something similar on this last week. I was wondering how common headaches in the second trimester was.

For the last month I have been having off and on headaches. I have a few days where I have no headaches and then a few days where I have a dull, throbbing headache (on either side of my head - it is not always on the same side) and sometimes tenderness behind one or other eye. Only occasionally have the headaches been so bad that I have had to take paracetemol (even then I don't like to take this). This has been going on for a month now!

I also often feel dehydrated and have been drinking loads of water. Naturally, being a complete worry wart, I have 'googled' 'pre-eclampsia symptoms on the internet and worried myself (yes - I know googling is bad for you!!!). I have been to the doctors twice over the last two weeks to try and sort it out. Both times they took my blood pressure and it was normal and they did a urine test which came out clear. I have even been to an oestopath to relieve tension in my neck. All to no avail. The doctors think this is just pregnancy hormones!!

Aaaaaagghhhh!!!

If it is pregnancy hormones - how long will this last for? For the whole pregnancy? Are any of you experiencing (or have experienced) second trimester headaches? How did it work out for you? Do you have any solutions like natural remedies I could try?

I talked to my OB about this about the time I entered second tri. She said that headaches are really common at this stage and that it's nothing to worry about. I took tylenol when needed. They lasted until week 18-19 for me. Didn't get them daily either, but on and off. I read that getting a foot massage is supposed to help, and it did ease the pain for me, but never completely got rid of the headaches.

i have had a really pants pregnancy so far and kind of cant remember not having them...i can clearly remember getting head aches and sore boobs which made me test and i was 5wk 3 days...they then died down a bit but unfortunately ihave to say tht they have been with me all this time, i have however noticed the past 3 or so weeks i am having a couple of days break a week...we can only take paracetamol which i think are poop so they dont help much...its kind of just put up with it i think...definately drink loads as that helped a little bit....
today is a very hard day, the pain is in my eyes, across my forehead and in my temples....kind of makes you feel sick too...

is it the same for you?

I had horrible headaches in the FIRST trimester, but I'm pretty sure they went away because my eyesight had deteriorated in the time I've been pregnant, and I desperately needed glasses but hadn't bothered seeing anybody. Once I did, surprise, no more headaches!

I can't remember if it was in my first or second trimester but I remember there was several weeks when I had a killer headache which could last several days in a row without getting better. I began to worry that I had something seriously wrong with me. It was always a lot worse when I stood up and was like a constant throbing and I had light sensitivty too.
