lots of gel definitely helps!! I sometimes get a buzzing noise if the headphones aren't plugged right in...
i guess also move phone etc away.
I found HB at 12 weeks, didn't try before then. then couldn't find it at 13, 14 or 15! then managed again at 16 weeks
I think 8-11 weeks is really rather optimistic.

I have an angelsounds and have been able to hear my baby's heartbeat since 8 weeks 6 days. I don't get any buzzing though, could yours be a dud? Or as someone else suggested is your mobile too close?
I use sensual lube gel (I already had it and saw no need to buy the special gel) or sometimes spit (yes I know, rank! but I don't like getting that sticky gel over me everytime and water is well, too watery). I have tried to use it dry and it doesn't really work.
I needed a full bladder in the early days but now, at 19 weeks it's not necessary.

Good luck.

My Angelsounds is great, we got the one with the speaker instead of headphones though so me and DH could hear it at the same time.

I use the ultrasound gel and lots of it, it's easier to pick up with lots on. Never had a problem not hearing it though, sometimes depending on where the baby is will depend on how clear you hear it but you do still hear it.

Never had a buzzing though, if you've had it a while i'd say it was batteries, if it's new i'd say it needed sending back and replacing.

mine is fantastic i have the green one & have been using it since 12 weeks. SOme days i struggled others like last night i found it instantly. I love it. I use baby oil which personally i think is better than gel as it goes a long way! i never have any buzzing are you close to anything electrical?

my tips are, lie very very flat & start right in the middle as low as you can go and move up & around v slowly. Bean for me is always in the same place but sometimes he is moving or kicking which makes it hard to hear, also i know its loud but use the loudest setting as it can be missed xx

I have an angelsounds and have tried to hear the heartbeat from 10 weeks on.

I finally heard it a few days ago! That was the first time and LO took off in the other direction immediately and I couldn't find it again.

What I find helps with sound is to plug the dopplar into speakers - I like to turn it way up and it hurts my ears as I move it around if I'm using headphones.

Also, I purchased ultrasound gel from amazon - perhaps that's what helped me finally hear it!

I hope you don't mind me popping in either, and don't think I'm being rude.
I made a thread about this in "First Trimester" almost a week ago and asked if anyone knew what I was hearing here;
http://www.filefreak.com/files/132342_2bgpp/doppler.mp3 but didn't get any opinions or response.
You ladies sound like you know what you're talking about, could you please tell me if that's the baby's heartbeat I'm hearing? the beat at 19 seconds in is my heartbeat for comparison. The rest is wooshing/different beat but doesn't seem to sound very fast/loud. That was very low down to the right.

It has some buzz to it, but not super loud. I use vaseline

I first found it on my own around 12 weeks I think....found it pretty low in the pelvic area.

i've never experienced any buzzing with mine, maybe its a little faulty?

i got my doppler when i was 16 weeks and found the heartbeat pretty much straight away, 13 weeks might still be early to hear it hun. I also found that using the ultrasound gel works the best. i did use baby oil and vaseline but didnt get a very clear sound.

good luck x
