as toria said some peoples tastes and experiences are alot different to ur own. My friends hate the hospital i'm having baby in and to be fair i'm working there too so have my own fears. I'd love to go private but cant afford it, if u can then do it!! atleast it'll put ur mind at rest!! xx good luck hun. xx

If you're worried go private. There's always horror stories and the hospital where I'm going isn't the best but I have to say with my last birth they pulled through brilliantly. Once they found out Faith was breech they were fab and dealt with it all very calmly and swiftly. On the other hand I've heard horrible birth stories from there so can only hope all is ok when I go into labour this time. Hope you sort it all soon and honestly if you're not happy go private!

I had no worries really about the hospital itself even though it is in dire need of ........ knocking down and starting again!! It's the fact that a Bulgarian girl was not helped much and had to ask for help so much, that the some peoples attitude to foreigners isn't too great!! There again, sometimes, we get better service, they can tell their friends that the served an English person today, or you get people practising their language skills on you. BUT, if they treat everyone the same then I have no chance. I struggle with the language at the best of times, if I am on my own and I have a problem, pain, struggling, what do I do????? The whole giving birth, having a child, being a mum is very new to me, it will be hard enough without having to deal with being ignored or not understood!

Like I said, you can't help, it';s just nice to be able to put my thoughts down on a forum where others understand. That helps a lot. Thank you girls x

Have you actually gone to the hospital and spoken to the staff? If you are that worried, I agree, go to the other one which is 45 mins away. It isnt likely that you go into labour and have it over in less than an hour. Most people are actually in labour for more then a day before the hospital even admits them.
