I'm Currently Feeling: | Is it ok for baby to have scan every month? I'm 24 weeks pregnant now and i had 3 scan so far
1st = i had it because i was bleeding, check if everything was ok
2nd = at 19.5 weeks to check baby'gender, i found out my placenta was very low
3nd( 1 day after 2nd) = i got hit by a car, so i had to check if my baby was ok
So now me and my husband want to have the scan every month just to make sure i'm doing ok each month, not too much work, ect. and i want to know if the placenta moved up or not.
my MIL said it's no point doing that, waste of money and doesn't do any good to the baby. BUt i just have normal scan not 3d or 4d.
Is it ok for the baby to have the scan every month? I don't think the scan will effect the baby in a bad way. | | | | Status: Online

I'm Currently Feeling: | i have been told that my placenta is low also and is being checked at my 20 weeks scan, if still low they will routinley check its progress b4 the birth and can choose options etc.
If u have a low placenta shouldn't they be keeping an eye on it 4 u anyway instead of you wasting your money? xx | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | I'm out in Bulgaria and I get asked back every month, so far I had a scan at 7 and 8 weeks (thought there was a problem, but got an injection for 2 weeks and they scanned at the same time), again at 13 weeks and again at 17 weeks, although they told me I was already 18 weeks!! So I go again in 3 weeks at which point I will be 22 weeks (or 21 by my calcs!). There doesn't seem to be a problem so I am not complaining at all. | | | | Status: Offline

Just annoyed with my MIL telling this and that all the time because she thinks her daughter told her that and she knows what she's talking about. | | | | Status: Online

I'm Currently Feeling: | 3D/4D are no different to normal scans so the fact it's not one of them makes no difference. If you want to see your baby every month, you do it! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | There was controversy about 5 to 6 years ago with regards to the safety of scans. However, with many private scan clinics popping up all over I'd think they wouldn't be allowed to do so if it caused any harm to baby. | | | | Status: Online

I'm Currently Feeling: | A lot of people with high risk pregnancies have scans done every month or so, as do many people who are having multiples. I don't think that they'd do that if there was any risks involved. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Scans will not harm your baby in any way hun.
I've had 8 so far & need to have one every monday from now on - they would not do this if there was any risk to us or our babies xx | | | | Status: Offline
