They dont cause harm so I wouldn't worry.

I did read some doctors report on them last year. He claims they're very dangerous but he also claims that things like the Vitamin K injection will kill your baby amongst other things.

His research seemed a little farfetched and paranoid to me so I did my own research. Nowhere else did any warnings come up.

I've had 3 so far and I'm now 21 weeks. I'll be having another one on Friday and then one a month from then on out. I haven't asked for these, my gynae does them by default... now if they were dangerous do you think he'd be willingly doing them?

I do know that 3d & 4d scans use higher frequency sound waves than 2d scans, but no risk has been proven. I say go for it if it makes you feel better, i'd have one every week if i could.

Theres no evidence that scanning does harm the baby, but i don't think anyone has been willing to have really frequent scans to test it out.

I worked at a vets when I was expecting Ewan an when on my night duties i used to scan myself!! The only thing i notice when i scanned was that he would start moving alot and i don;t know if it was the sound waves or not, but i doubt that there would be any harm i monthly scans.

I loved seeing the difference between my 8 and 20 week scan. From a little bean to a real live baby! I wish i had my own ultrasound machine at home lol

The babies definately notice the scans. I've noticed that.

With my last two scans baby stopped moving and turned and looked straight "at us" when the gynae first put the scanner on. After a couple of seconds baby decided we weren't interesting enough and carried on about his/her business.

Thought it was quite cute. At 11 weeks it to him/her a while to start jumping again but at 15 weeks they just turned around, looked what seemed to be straight at us then turned their back on us and carried on.
