Sorry OT - Another Cat Thread - Hopefully a happy one!!

Hi ladies,

Sorry to start another cat thread, but I do love the positive sides of the cat threads, generally chatting about our feline friends.

I thought I would share a little story with you and wondered if anyone else had any funny little stories they wanted to share about their cats or even other furbabies.

I have two cats Roxy and Diesel, Roxy comes accross as really intelligent (like she knows exactly what is going on) and Diesel well a little less so!

Anyway, they both (I can only describe it as) bang on the door demanding their breakfast in the morning. They don't scratch very much, I'm not sure what they do, but it sounds like they run and charge at the door (!) or jump on the handle and hang until DH husband gets so fed up and feeds them. It is fine on work days, as they start at about 6.45 and we get up then anyway, but at the weekend - poor DH!! I'm a really heavy sleeper so don't hear them.

Usually when I get up at the weekend at about 9.30/10 (that will change when LO comes - LOL) they run out crying for food so I feed them. If they are nowhere to be seen I know that DH has already fed them. Well Diesel has now cottoned on that if he acts really hungry when I get up I don't realize he has already been fed and 2 days last week he got double breakfast - cheeky little so and so !

If anyones got any funny stories to share I would love to hear them.

xxx

Ahh that's sweet cute names too! I have two cats Mowgli 6yr old male DSH chilled out big boy and Tinkerbelle (Pinky) a 2yr British short hair cross a very clever girl! She came into the vets where I worked as a stray and she is soooo beautiful I couldntvresist her. It took a few months for Mowgli to accept her but now, there inseprible!!!

It made me laugh about the door thing as mine do that too!! Again I don't know what they do it sounds like they take a run up and throw themselves at the door as it's just a massive thud!!!! Lol!

Pinky is like my little dog. She follows me everywhere! Even to the loo where a few times shechas jumped up and sat actually on the toilet seat behind my bum whilst I'm going!! Lol! She has tried to follow me to the shops before too! She's mad! She can be all snug in the sofa and if I get up for anything my hubby shouts "here comes ur lil dog!"

Mowgli is so chilled out he's sideways like my hubby! Itcwas his b day yesterday!

It's funny as Mowgli traits are like my hubbys and Pinkys are like me! Very funny!

Anyway, I could go on forever! Good post!! :-)

Your two sound very much like my two. Diesel is our big boy (he doesn't need 2 breakfasts). He is not overweight but he only has 3 legs so we need to watch his weight a little but he is a very stocky cat. He is very laidback, Roxy is really tiny and very highly strung but also very cuddly. She also follows me everywhere - to the toilet - although she has never got that close - !

p.s. Roxy reminds me of a dog - she is always trying to lick me - not in a cat way but in an overexcited dog kind of way!! Very crazy.

My cats are like that, specially the scottish fold (the guy from my avatar). Scottish was supposed to be quiet cats, but for some reason, mine is very vocal. He would keep meowing 1/2 to 1 hour before (manual) feeding time.

They don't bother in the morning cause I have set up an automatic feeding to feed them in the morning, and it the afternoon when we are away from home. If you cats are too annoying, you may try using automatic feeders also

Good advice.

Not annoying for me, but maybe a little for DH - I'm the heaviest sleeper, nothing wakes me, I guess that will change!

When the baby comes along we will no doubt be waking them up for their breakfast, maybe I will get my revenge then -

xx

Aww I love cats. I can't have them where I am as I live directly onto a main road and the heartbreak of losing them to it would be too much.

But I grew up with a gorgeous cat named Harley (maine coon) he was a big ball of fluff and got very friendly in his old age.. he lived to 16 years old which I'm told is very old for maine coon. We also had a red burmese named Garfield. But we lost him early to some kind of pneumonia.

I have some terrible pictures of me putting Harley in a Moses basket with the blanket over him and him just lying there and taking it!.. I must have been about 6 years old at the time. The things my lovely cat went through to keep me amused.. poor boy!

I have 2 ginger moggies called Milo and Maisy, they are 2yo brother and sister

Maisy is an evil little minx who is sneaky and quick to tell you when she's had enough... she has her Own bed ontop of the cat tree and the rediator belongs to her if Milo or the dogs go near it she swipes them! Lol

Milo is very different he is laid back and sleeps aaallll day in his little igloo... but if Maisy is being evil and has stolen it he sleeps on the back of the couch If I don't make sure the window is shut sometimes he comes on walks with me and the dogs! haha the other night I had to catch him and put him on a lead because the dogs just try and chase him away.

Maisy has ears like a blimmin radar... if I so much as open the cupboard there food is kept in she comes running, or if she hears me take ham out the fridge! She will sit and meow and wait for a wee bit
