Question

v. worried. TMI alert sorry.

Hi girls. just really need opinions here.sorry if its TMI. right so as usual yesterday i had some CM which is normal during pregnancy i know. just that yesterday it seems to kinda be a little liquidy. like it made my pants damp just a small circle surrouning the CM, and dampened by pyjamas a little. you couldn't see anything on the pyjamas just felt a little damp. i know it could be normal but i panic. could it be leaking amniotic fluid? i'm just scared that it could be and that i could get an infection and lose baby. i know that sometimes they put you on bedrest for this aswell. what should i do? should i contact the hospital? i'm just terrified of losing my little biy, spent all yesterday feeling so awful and crying and having images of having to say goodbye to my little boy. couldn't even explain it to my boyfriend cause when i tried i just burst into tears. please help.

Put in a pad, if it's wet in an hour, call the hospital.

I'm going to copy and paste my response, there was a thread asking the same question so here it is.

I had the same problem, just i was losing a bit of 'fluid' every so often, I went to the doctor and they checked me and it wasn't my fluids, he told me that it's perfectly normal to have 'watery' discharge that doesn't even resemble discharge(that looks like water) or that it could be a 'faulty bladder'. The ways to tell if it is amniotic fluid, *note: this is copied and pasted*

Amniotic fluid (your "water") should be clear, but it also can be yellow, pink-tinged, brown or green. And, unlike urine, leakage doesn't happen only sporadically; if your membranes are ruptured, you usually continue to leak fluid. If you're unsure whether it's amniotic fluid or urine, put on a pad and lie down for about 30 minutes. If you feel a small gush when you stand, it could be amniotic fluid.

So I would try that if I were you, and try not to worry yourself too much because it is a rare thing to happen. Although to put your mind at ease, I would call up the doctor or your MW and schedule an appointment to have an internal exam.

If you are feeling really worried I would definately get it checked. Hopefully it will be nothing and you will feel reassured and happy again.

I have days where I get really watery discharge and my underpants are pretty wet. I worry all day that it is amniotic fluid, but the next day, I'm back to normal again. I think it is normal hun, but if you are worried you could call the M/W. I'm going to mention it to my midwife next monday at my 24wk appointment, but I expect she'll just say it is normal.

I know some days , particularly in the second trimester, I felt very 'squelchy' down there! Midwife said very common. But if you are worried give your midwife a call.
