Have to have steriod injections!

Last night when i was going to bed i went to the toilet and when i wiped there was blood. So i went to bed and when i woke up this morning there was still some blood when i wiped and i also had a period type pains. So i rang the hospital and they told me to come in. Everything with the baby seems fine so they said that they would give me steriod injections and keep me in for observation. I asked them could they not let me home and after a while they agreed as long as i come back in if the bleeding starts again or if the pain gets any worse. So they gave me the first injection and even though i would be due the second injection at 1am they will let me wait and have it first thing tomorrow. i reall hope this isnt a sign that things are going to go wrong.

Hey honey,

I just wanted to wish you luck and I hope that everything goes well.

I think that they are probably being extra cautious, but make sure they keep an extra close eye on you. Will you be having more frequent checks.

I've not experienced bleeding this late in pregnancy myself, sorry can't be of anymore help.

xx

I just had mine last week at 24w5ds and 24w6ds. I had a different reason, but its only best for your baby. If you have bleeding, and it doesnt stop, it could man that you are having a placenta abruption. Meaning your placenta could be tearing away from the wall. You would have to have a c-section and if that is the case, you need those shots. they shouldnt have let you go home without knowing where the bleeding is from. the steroids start working 48hrs after the first shot. every week is better for the baby. I hope this is just nothing and your baby makes it far.

They checked my placenta and its up high and they checked my cervix which they said looked just fine. I think they were glad when i begged to go home as there was 2 women in labour that they didnt have beds for so i was way down the list of priorities
