Constipation...&..enemas???

Hi girls.
This is sort of embarrassing , but ive been constipated for a week now. I had two very large, hard piles last week (hurt bad, took an hour to pass, almost thought i couldn't pass it ) Anyways, tried the Metamucil for 5 days. That did absolutley nothing. Tried increasing my fiber intake through food and drinking juices, that hasn't worked. Been on Miralax for three days, and although i had one rather small BM Sunday night...still nothing. The doc said if Miralax didn't work within 24 hours than i would have to do a FLEET Enema (its over-the-counter, and done at home). Im really nervous. Its only rated "C" according to the FDA standards, and frankly im nervous because ive never had one before. Is this safe? Im 14 weeks preggo. & can anyone please tell me your honest experience with it...so anxious to use it

Hey, didnt want to just read and run, if your doctor has recommended them, am sure they will be fine.

I had the same problem and my midwife recommended suppoisities and they worked wonders xx

I use enemas once a month or so and have never had any problems with them during pregnancy. I have always assumed they are OK during pregnancy as it is sometimes an option to have one before birth. The only thing I have noticed is during pregnancy is that you can take a less fluid inside you than pre-pregnancy.
After searching for "FLEET Enema" I see that this contains an actual laxative solution. This is have never tried and have only ever used plain WARM water. Note: a cold liquid may make you feel uncomfortable or give cramps.
