Feeling lousy do I stay or go

I have been feeling quite rough the last few days, Im exhausted, have no energy feel light headed and dizzy and keep feeling like I want to be sick.
I stayed off work yesterday sick and was in bed until 12 lunchtime and even then I had to drag myself out of bed.

I didnt want to come in today as I feel so rough but so worried about getting in trouble with work, that I dragged myself here, but I feel like crying its not even 10am and I feel crap and want to go home.

Is this the way its going to be for the next 5 months

Hopefully not!

If you feel that bad, then get yourself home. Work should appreciate that you have attempted to work, but it should be clear to them you're not well. At least you got into work, and din't just ring in sick.

Go and rest hun xxx

hun you sound like me. Im the same a PA and I look after a large team of people and I feel bad if I dont come in.
You worry about being sick, you worry about the baby, you worry about losing your job if you take time off sick, its just endless stress and worry.

I want to crawl into a dark room and come back in August!

to make it worse there is another girl in the office pregnant who seems to be a die hard and never takes any time off and she makes me look like such a slacker

Oh Honey

I am sorry you are not feeling great.

Your work are legally obliged to be understanding about pregnancy-related sickness and absence. So if you are not up to being at work go home and snuggle up under your duvet and get cosy.

I had a couple of days off work last week as I had the most awful stetching pains mixed in with dizziness and nausea. Once I had rested I felt a lot better. You are growing a whole new person and sometimes I think we have to stop and give ourselves a few days rest to support our bodies in this amazing journey.

Take it easy - I hope you feel better soon

Poor you I would definitely suggest taking a day off to rest. I got really overwhelmed last week, nothing majorly physical, just got stressed and worried out and felt really tired and like crying all the time. I went home at 11am on Wednesday and had a daytime TV / sofa day with a couple of naps. I felt so much better on Thursday, back to my usual optimistic self! So listen to your body, if it's telling you to have a rest then have one... Don't worry about work. Even if they did sack you, you could sue them for billions! Pregnant women are invincible

I feel such a wimp now!! Since finding out I was pregnant in October, I had been to work, but due to bleeding, I was put on bed rest. Everytime I was looking to go back, it started again, so was resting and trying not to worry(had miscarriage last year so my head was all over the place with worry). I then started to feel better from that as it stopped, and I haven't bled in a while. However then I was overcome with faintness to the point where I was unable to sit upright without feeling like I was going. That has now gone, but my back has given out completely!! The doctor has signed me off for 6 weeks and isn't happy about me travelling 2 hours on a cramped train everyday and sitting at a desk all day(I can request a chair, but it takes until x amount are requested until they order - I'll be on maternity leave by the time it arrives!! Now I have 4 weeks left of official work time from April 5th. I know my employer cannot use any time off against me as I'm medically certified as being off with pregnancy related illness. This time last year, I would have felt really guilty. However, after my miscarriage, my boss gave me a hellish time over it with no empathy whatsoever. He even questioned if I was going to get pregnant again, and if it meant time off!!! Not actually allowed!!! I now don't feel bad at all.

If I was you, rest as much as you need. Go to your GP for advice, he or she may sign you off. At least they can't question your illness then! I just got to the point where I really don't care. My only concern is my son. Maybe wrong attitude, but I can't see any other way right now!!
