I'm Currently Feeling:

How can I Embrace it?

I am having difficulty embracing my pregnancy body, whilst im loving being a c- cup plus, I hate my belly, I have always had a flat, nice looking belly, but now i'm bloated and slowly getting a bump; I am constantly aware of it. It's not so bad when I have clothes on, but when im undressing or me and my OH are doing the deed, thats all im thinking of. It's ruined my sex drive completely, I feel discusting even though I know Justin loves it. It doesn't help, If anything it grosses me out that he likes it.

Over the last few days I've been feeling down, this is in addition to me hating my belly. I wasn't even looking forward to seeing my bub again and finding out the sex. I almost fell asleep during the scan, I had to act happy coz Justin and my friend were there and everyone else i told was so happy. This isn't how pregnancy should be! I'm hopeful though, coz on monday I have an appt with a phsycologist. I'm hoping he will help me sort out my head so I can be a better mum.

Has anyone else had these thoughts? And any idea on how to help me in either problems? I hate not having a sex drive, coz my OH makes me feel bad about it even though I can't help it...

Hopefully your psycologist can help you on Monday. I still can't get my head round being pregnant _ I know I will soon though. Our hormones are so al over the place, it takes forever to sort your head out!
As for you belly, try and think why it's there. It's not like you ate too many pies - it is a wonderfully sexy thing to have a baby bump and if your OH loves it, then it can't be an ugly thing!!
Hope you start to feel a bit better soon hun x x

i dont feel pregnant, all i say is that i am a heffa. i feel massive and constantly think about getting back into shape.

i have read some where some women love it and embrace it, and others can get past the im getting larger aspect. its all about how you view yourself.

dont beat yourself up about it, its not how you feel about the baby, you will be a great mum. its your body u have an issue with not your baby. just enjoy the fact that you will have a lovely baby soon and you can get back to the way you feel comfortable. hope it helps!!!!

It sounds like you very well may have pre-natal depression. Roughly 25% of all women have this, but they don't always know they have it. I would talk to my doctor if I were you, there's anti-depressants they can give you to help you cope, and they are specifically designed for pregnant women.
No pregnant woman should at any time ever feel like her protruding belly is discusting. It's a beautiful thing, and you are a beautiful person. The belly you have when you're pregnant makes you beautiful.

pregnant women look gorgeous in my opinion!!
When u have been slim all ur life it will obv be a massive change to then suddenly develop a tummy etc but u have to remember its coz ur pregnant!!

It's only for 9 monthss, after the baby u can get back in shape!

Maybe u should pay attention to other areas such as ur hair, make up etc??

I always have & still do make an effort with myself and I get complimented every day at work!! That's a nice feeling....

Good luck!

I get stressed with how I look often Not good I know, but it def happens and it is normal. Though I would spend a bit of time talking to your doctor about it and I applaud you for seeing someone to talk to about it.

Remember though, there is no "way it should be" every pregnancy is different and everyone responds to their bodies changes differently.

Thanks ladies for your support. Good to know others are in the same boat. I first booked the appt with the phsycologist for other reasons, but I think he may be able to help me cope as well. It doesn't help that my boss constantly calls me fat etc, even if I told her not to she still would. She thinks it's funny and doesn't particularly care about ppls feelings. I just retort with I have an excuse, whats yours?

Your boss is very rude!

In my other pregnancies, I had a very, very hard time with the weight gain. Here's a person who is 95 lbs. gaining weight constantly and ending up at 45 lbs. over my pre pregnancy weight by the time I had my babies. It was very tough.

This time around I am making sure that I am not dressing in my OH's shirts and putting emphasis how I look with maternity clothes, makeup, etc. And I am not trying to hide the bump this time around.

It takes a lot to get used to but know that you will be able to get back to your normal weight after the baby. I lost the weight very quickly after my babies and I am sure you will too.

wait till your belly is bigger and rounder - in just a few short weeks. it wont look bloated and fat (though i bet you dont look like that at all) - it'll look beautiful and pregnant. it's another look altogether. So rounded and perfect.

Yeah, I'm sure you'll start feeling great when your belly starts looking rounder. Plus maternity clothes are super comfy; I got a bunch of shirts at old navy.com and there really stylish, I feel great in them. Getting some really great looking stuff will probably help you feel better about your looks.
