Turning white as a sheet and feeling wierd

Hi ladies

Been having a few funny moments over the last few days. My face goes white and I feel really lithargic. Have felt hot and faint on a few occasions too. Initially I thought it may be due to not eating regularly enough, but it's happened even after I have recently eaten. I'm 15 weeks now. Anyone got any thoughts or any similar experiences? Would be great to hear them.

Thanks lots xx

That could be your blood pressure dropping (it happens to me sometimes, luckily not since I've been pregnant). Does it happen when you stand up from a sitting position? I'd give your midwife a call and mention it to her to be sure everything's ok.

I get it quite a bit but only when I'm out (shopping etc)... I think mine is anxiety related as I'm fine in the house. I would mention it to MW honey just to be on the safe side.

xx

Yeah, it happens when I've been stood up for a while (rather than just after standing). I'm seeing her on Tuesday, so I'll tell her about it. My blood pressure was good last time. Thanks for your thoughts! xx

I'd also ask about iron levels. I had some of those problems which have cleared up since I've been put on iron tabs.

I've been getting this too, I've actually fainted a couple times too. Mentioned it to my midwife who couldn't fathom it out because all my blood & urine tests come back fine. Just make sure you mention it to her, and try to take it easy if you can xx

This happened to me just before I fainted in supermarket last weekend - it's probably your blood pressure (although when paramedics checked me my blood pressure, heart rate and blood sugar were all fine).
It's a warning sign you might faint so best to sit down/go somewhere cooler/take it easy (I get the slightly faint/lethargic feeling if I've been doing a bit too much). Best to raise it with your midwife at your next appointment as well.

The same thing has happened to me twice now in the past week, I'm 16 weeks now and am due to see my MW in a few days so I'm going to mention it to her. I think mine is related to the fact that I'm standing all day at work.

The same thing was happening to me at work in the mornings... i'd get really faint and get shakey hands and come over hot but with a cold sweat. It was really upsetting me and I asked my midwife about it. I didn't think it could be low blood sugar either as I eat about every 1/2 hour! But we talked about WHAT I eat and it turns out that my 'healthy' diet of 4 pieces of fruit before lunch was probably the culprit. She advised me to drop in more carbs & protein, particularly in the morning so now I have a banana... followed by cereal... followed by toast... followed by fruit. Since I added in a bit more protein & carbs I have felt much better.
