i'm super excited for my little boy, but...

so i went to my nephews birthday party yesterday. it was such a fun time.

well, a few kids were there and i focused on the relationship between the moms and their kids. the little girls were stuck to their mothers sides. they hugged and touched and smiled and loved eachother.
the little boys were out doing their own thing. playing with toys, playing with the other kids, running around and having fun.

i think i maybe have gotten a little jealous. i'm having a boy, which i am super excited about, but i think i'm already missing the relationship with the daughter that i'm not having.

please don't think ladies that i'm awful. i AM excited to be pregnant and having a boy. all i want my child to be is healthy.

has anyone felt like this before?

Congratulations on having a boy!!! I have got a 4 year old boy and he is sooo loveable

Yes, they might not show it as much in public because even from an early age is not "cool" when you are a boy to show affection for mummy in presence of friends, but it does change when you are at home.

My boy keeps wanting cuddles and says I love you frequently..

Don't be jealous - they can be a lot more loveable than girls, remember the saying "mummys boy"

x

Aww don't feel bad. Little boys may seem very independent but actually I think they need their mummys for longer - they need just as many kisses and cuddles!! :-)

My 10 year old son isn't like that at all. He is very doting and clings to me wherever we go. He isn't roughty and is compassionate and sweet to others. Not all little boys fit the stereotype of rough and tough. Not to worry! =)

Hi - congrats on your boy

I have two sons and one daughter and tbh my daughter was always the one going off to play, being really independant and my boys were all about loving their mum and getting kisses and cuddles lol .Dont get me wrong, my daughter had her cuddly moments too but she seemed to grow out of it so quickly - off doing her own thing, super feisty and independant whereas my boys are still my boys, still cuddly and they are now 12 and nearly 8 lol.

You will have a fab realtionship with your son, I am sure -I know I do!!

xx

Hi,

I teach 5-6 year olds and to be honest I just LOVE the boys! I am happy to be having a girl and there are good (and not so good) points about both. Boys are gorgeous cheeky monkeys who still run out to their mums at the end of the day! I honestly feel that it's not all down to whether it is a boy or a girl but also how you bring them up. Your little boy will be just gorgeous and will dote on you!

Awww hun, Dont worry, and dont go feeling bad about it either.
I have an (almost) 2yr old boy, and he is Such a loving and affectionate little man!
He likes to go off sometimes and have his play time, but he will keep coming back to me and giv me a quick cuddle. Before he goes to bed each night he kisses me and says "LUFF YOUUU Mummy" lol If I ever bang or hurt myself he comes and kisses me and rubs it better. I like that he has a balance, he likes his independant time but I couldnt ask for a more loving child!
I tell him every day that I love him, and he is a really secure kid!
I think there is a special relationship between a mother and her son that wouldnt be there in the same way with a girl! I also know some ladies with girls that are not in any way loving towards their mummies, I think its not a rule for everyone!

I have actually reduced myself to tears writing down how affectionate my wee man is, lol. I wouldnt swap the bond we have for anything in the world x x

hey, i have a 3yr old son and hes brill, best of both worlds i get! hes very indepedent, loves his friends at nursery and playing power rangers at the park but he is extremely loving caring and protective towards me.
sometimes he sleeps with me and in the morning he will stroke my face to wake me up, and yesterday he said to me 'listen mummy, im telling you the truth, your the best in the world' and nusery teachers always tell me he tells everyone he has the best mummy in the world. he gives me lots of cuddles and kisses, even while he plays he will ask if im okay and if i want a cuddle and a kiss.

i *think* im having another boy, very excited again!, but i do hope one day i have a girl becuase i love pink things and would like that mummy daughter bond too where i can play with her hair and take her shopping etc
xx
