I think how you bring your child up has far more bearing on how they act than if they are boys or girls.

I have all boys. All have been very loving and love their cuddles, but they have also all been very independant. I wanted them to be like that and I love it! I have nevr had any tears when leaving them at nursery, or starting school, they are confident enough to be so excited about it they soon forget about me! Then when they get home they are excited to tell me all about it. I couldnt' bear to have a child who cried when I left them, it must be upsetting.

thanks for the support and experiences with you boys ladies.
i think my feelings are being drawn from my relationship with my boyfriends 2 kids.
his 11 year old daughter is basically my best friend. she follows my around all through out the house, we do lots of things together, cuddle and do eachothers hair, i know alot about what's going on in her life and with her friends and such. it's great!
his 7 year old boy and i don't have that relationship. he is a great and active little boy and i love him dearly, but our relationship isn't at all like me and the daughters.

i'm just so nervous about it all too. i'm a girl, i know how i was raised and think i would know how to raise a girl better than a boy. i just hope i'm the mommy my little boy deserves and not be soo nervous about everything with him.

thanks for not judging me either ladies.

My boys are so loveable, always wanting cuddles. I was at my nieces party yesterday and it was always my dream to have a little girl and after having 3 adorable boys i'm finally getting my dream but after watching my niece and her friends yesterday i'm starting to wonder what i was thinking. She was 8 and she was so mean to her mom. Her mom was trying to play games with them and my niece just looked at her with disgust and was like " you dont know what your talking about mom" and was really nasty. And my sil is only 30 so its not like shes old. But anyway i think on either side there is good things and bad things.

My little boy is extremely loveable - to a degree when we are out, but very much at home. He puts his arms round my neck and says "I love you lots and lots, you are the bestest in the big world". My heart melts each time. I am sure the bond is different with a son than a daughter, but neither lessr than the other... and I am also sure that the bond with each CHILD is different, regardless of gender.
