4d scan at 18 1/2 weeks

Should I pay for a 4d scan at 18 weeks march 1st to get confirmation on gender? Or be patient like everyone else and wait till 21 weeks

i would wait until the 20 week scan and then have a 4d scan later on because it would be a lot better. also after the 20 week scan thats it so you could have one at about 30 weeks so it breaks it up a bit.

I know how you feel, we paid for a gender scan at 16 1/2 wks because we couldnt wait. didnt have the 4d though. cost us £79 with babybond. we have our 20wk scan on the 1st march hopefully she'll still be a girl!

too bad I'm in the states its gonna cost me 400 us here for 4d

I would definitely NOT do the 4d that early. I had 4d done at 24 weeks and it was the worst, you could barely see anything and it was most definitely not worth it (thankfully mine was covered by insurance and done for health reasons) but, after that I'm definitely going to wait until like 32 weeks to get 4d done, just so I don't throw away money like that. This is my opinion though but maybe it will be different. I would definitely call the place you're wanting to get the u/s done and find out if they will even do it that early, most places won't do it without doctor's approval and doctor's don't usually approve until after 28 weeks.

Pretty pistol $400!!!!!!! are you serious! the average here is about $170 for 30 mins including gender. But the other girls are right, a 3d scan at this stage isn't worth the money.

My u/s tech said that they are usually the best and clearest pics after 28 weeks for a 4d, so I'm kinda like amygwen...think Ima wait til like 32 weeks for one.

My OBGYN didn't plan to give me a scan until the one I had at 22 weeks... So we went private at about 13 weeks and paid like $100 for a regular 2D scan...the same place does a 30 minutes 3D/4D for $175, or a 15 minute one for $125....

Another place we're considering, as we want to get a 3D scan sometime within the next couple of weeks, then another one at about 30 weeks, is about the same price.
