I'm Currently Feeling: | A couple of questions about my doc appointment yesterday - your opinions please I woke this morning with nagging questions and questioning the doctors appointment. Don't get me wrong, still like him better than the last.
He said I am 18 weeks and I would be due on 16th Sept. Well, as I said before, that does not tally so maybe he meant the 18th!!?? BUT, jiggy jiggy was on the 3rd Jan, OV on the 4th, so that would make me 17 weeks tomorrow!! If you went off my period then most docs would say I was about 15 1/2 weeks, but I know when sex happened and OV occured, but can you argue with docs calculations??
Another question, this cropped up whilst talking to my mum and OH, doc says my blood pressure is normal for a pregnant woman, but both OH and mum say it's low (my mum has low blood pressure). It was 95/60. What do you girls think???
I do wish he hadn't told us what he "thinks" we are having. He said it might be a girl, but doesn't know for sure!!!! I think I would have preferred it if he said he couldn't tell, we'll have a look again next month!!! Now all I keep thinking is "is it a girl or is it not???????" My sister isn't happy cause she wanted to go shopping, my mum is pacing wanting to know for definate and now I just want to know. Talk about dangling a carrot!
I did find one thing out though. After I had my blood was taken, we had to go to a different section to hand over my blood. The woman was a bit offish, sent OH to pay and I sat and waited. She put my vile with my paper on the side and carried on with her work. I saw doc but didn't think anything of it. Later OH said he saw the doc and he said he had gone to see the nurse to make sure she did my blood test before others!!!!!! Do I feel special or what!!!! I've said it before, once the equipement matches the efficiency and professionalism of the docs here in BG, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. The docs here are brilliant, it's just a shame the hospitals are in a timewarp! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | I think your blood pressure is quite low, mine was 90/60 and i was told by the midwife that the top figure should be about 100 plus your age and the bottom figure should be between 70 and 80. Im going on hols next week and had to get a note from the GP to say I can fly as the midwife said she was concerned because of my low BP.
With dates, like you said, you know when it happened and doctors i presume tend to go mainly on measurements so maybe LO is measuring slightly bigger? But then all babies develop at different rates so i wouldnt be too concerned.
Not sure about anything else but hope this helps a little bit!
Good luck in getting your answers hun

I'm Currently Feeling: | My baby was concieved a week after they tell me she was. I've given up trying to keep up with them and let them think what they want. They've changed their minds so many times.
95/60 is just fine. Aslong as the bottom number isn't under 60 and over 90 they don't worry. | | | | Status: Online

I'm Currently Feeling: | Normally a girl around 18 years should have the blood pressure 125/80
and i woman over 25 should have a blood pressure of 135/80
Thats from what i can remember in my science a level.
My blood pressure was low when I had a check up but she said it's fine. Better than it being high! I always used to have high blood pressure aswell. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | I'm 18 and my blood pressure has always been 110/70 (pre-pregnancy).. I wouldn't go with averages, they just worry people (and blood pressure changes alot during pregnancy). | | | | Status: Online

My first!! He sys it's curled up so that's why I'm not that big!!! Funny cause babs was kicking around quite a bit at the scan!
Well I am 38 this year, first baby, I had a couple of dizzy spells a few weeks ago but besides that I am fine. Doc says I can travel no probs and eat what I want which is a very dangerous thing to say to me as I'm enjoying food again!!
I'm gonna try and take some pics of bump so you can see what I mean about not huge | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Here's my bump a short time ago. You're telling me that the baby is 23 cms!!!??
I'm wearing one of the only things I can at the moment, I have one skirt, another skirt fits but my backside looks huge, 1 pair of jeans as they have 2 buttons so I can undo the top one! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | You are not very big at all!! But saying that no one looks big to me as im huge!!
He could maybe be right that baby is curled up - mine is only 21 cms apparently and i definitely look bigger but then my LO has been stretched out at the scans.
Its all very confusing!
Ive been having dizzy spells which midwife has put down to bp. She said it would only be a big concern if the top number drops below 70 so i think we're ok for now! Its better being low as bp tends to rise in 3rd tri so theres less chance of it getting too high towards the end

Ah, we leave second trimester and many anxieties, just to get new ones!
You don't look huge at all. Wow, the normal length of baby at your stage should be 14.2 cm. Just looked it up! http://www.pregnancy.org/pregnancy/f...nt2.php#week20 | | | | Status: Online
