I think that sucks, it's almost as if they would prefer new mothers have to drop out.

Sorry to hear you're going through it.

That is terrible and I find it really shocking. That just doesn't seem in line with maternity benefits in Canada. It does seem like they are encouraging students to drop out.

I don't really know your situation, but is there anyway to take an online class or two or even a once a week (like Saturday) all-day class so that you can keep your feet in school but not feel overwhelmed? I know those type of classes are offered around here, but I don't know your major or anything. I sure hope you figure a way out!

Is there a guidance counselor you can speak to? 30 days is pretty ridiculous. Have you spoken to your lecturers? perhaps you can continue to study from home?. If the schools policy is 30 days (which is ridiculous) unfortunately there isn't much you can do.

I was also wondering if you could bring your baby to class and baby wear. That could be helpful in the beginning. You could wear your baby in a sling to class and even breast feed discretely in the sling.

I agree with cameragirl that you should try to discuss matters with a guidance counselor or see if you can reduce your class load. The school should be able to support you.
