I'm Currently Feeling: | Your post has prompted me to register here after lurking in these forums for months. I too had my 20 week scan this week which showed my baby has enlarged renal pelvis and bilateral talipes. However, I asked to have a more thorough scan with a consultant which i had done today. According to him baby's kidneys are fine and the talipes is mild, possibly positional. Like you I have been googling too much and worrying myself sick. Sorry for rambling on a bit my point is that you should definitely ask for a 2nd opinion. Speak to your GP and get another scan done. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | I am so sorry for the stress you are under. My little boy was diagnosed with spinal bifida at 20 weeks so I understand what it is like to be told things might not be perfect and to be left hanging.
Get as much information from the doctors and midwives as you can. Don't google as this information isnt specific to what they have found in your baby and will only scare you. Golf balls may be a sign of downs, but without any other indicators it could be something totally different which isnt worth bothering yourself over - which is why the doctor wasnt concerned.
A private scan will put your mind at rest.
I hope everything turns out for the better - but if you do have bad news, I have found the ladies here such a support! |
