Midwife appointment

Well I had a midwife appointment this morning and I swear she likes worrying people. She has a tendancy to tell you things but not explain them properly.

I've been told he's measuring rather high so could mean a couple of things, he's either a big baby, I could be a wk or 2 further than thought or I could have gestational Diabeties (sp).

She's useless!!!

sorry small rant over.

Well don't know if it applies to you but I have measured roughly 2 weeks ahead since about 24 weeks and my midwife not overly bothered. She said it often means nothing of note, and they only worry/look into it firther if 3 or more cm bigger.

Sorry to hear you're feeling worried hun. One of the midwives ive seen is the same. She told me I was measuring high but never went into any more detail. Also when i asked her what anterior placenta meant (from my scan) she said it was at the front so i would probably need a c section if it was low. Worried the life out of me but she wouldnt go into any more detail or explain it any further. I went home and googled it and it just means my placenta is at the front instead of the back and rarely, in some cases, you may need a c section if its blocking your cervix. So i felt she worried me about a c section for no reason!

If you are not happy with your midwife you can request to see someone else, its your pregnancy and your baby and you should feel like you have the support of your midwife all the way through

Some doctors and/or midwifes just don't explain things appropriately causing one to worry. Or they just don't want to take the time to explain. Health care is becoming so impersonal!

Thank you ladies for all your nice comments, I agree Leeanne medical care in so impersonal. I've got my Glucose test 7th May so that'll tell me if I have diabetes or not. It's just annoying the way they tell you these things and don't explain them making people worry.
