I used cloth diapers and I love them. The brands I like the most are fuzzibunz, kangas, happy heiny's and there is a canadian brand that you can get on ebay called luv your baby. I havent got any, but they are so soft and they have great reviews. http://cgi.ebay.ca/12-OS-MINKY-AIO-C...item335a0b4f9b

I highly recommend you buy these too! Amazing price and fuzzibunz are adjustable in the legs and the waist where most diapers are only adjustable through the waist!! http://cgi.ebay.ca/NEW-FUZZIBUNZ-FUZ...item4ceb27cf10

Im noy a fan of bumgenious though, I havent had a good experience with the quality and the inside is a rougher material. All the other brands I use have super fuzzy and soft lining.

Thanks Joss!
Was wondering, what does a cloth diaper look like under baby clothes? Is it super bulky or is it similar to disposable diapers and how they look (not that its really important, but what just curious)

They are a little more bulky. But I bought an AMP to try and it is very slim fitting

Sweet! What does AMP stand for?

Oh yeah, another question, the liner inserts that come with the fuzibunz diapers, do you throw those away or wash them? In other words, do i need to buy a ton of those?

No, I think there are 2 liners that come with them and they are microfiber soaker pads. All the diapers I suggested are "pocket" diapers which means the outside layer is a fabric with waterproof material called pul inside. And then there is a soft fleece layer inside that goes against the babies skin. They have an opening at the back where you insert the microfiber boosters.

The pocket diapers dry a hell of alot faster and are much more handy.

AMP stand for Ann Marie Padorie, they are an all in one diaper which means they dont need to be stuffed etc. They are the only AIO's i've found that dry ok, but they still take longer.

Hi! I can suggest a few places to find diapers and information. I think your decision to go with cloth is fantastic. I don't think you will regret it. If you want to use disposables (sposies) when you are out and traveling try GroBaby they are a great system. The outside shells are not disposable but the inserts are, they are flushable, compostable or you can throw them away making them a great option when you are out, then all you have is the outside shell to take home.
BumGenius 3.0 are by far and away the most popular choice for cloth diapering but there are a lot of different options out there. So make sure you do your research. There is a great blog, all about cloth diapers that has tons of info about cloth diapering!
A place that sells diapers and has some good information about cloth diapering, including questions to ask before you decide what diapers to use, franklin goose. I know someone who is starting a diaper trial where you can try the diapers out and then return what you don't like, so email them and ask.
You definitely need a wet bag when you are out and a good diaper pail liner too. And don't forget the wipes, wipe solution and detergent!
Good luck and congrats!

Hi. I am using "prefold cloth" that you can get at your local target or babies r us (very inexpensive) along with a "thristies" diaper cover.
I do have a few bumgenius AIO one size to try and I am going to use the gdiaper system with my own prefold cloth insert.

see the prefold/diaper cover method in use:

I went to my diaper workshop last night and confimed what we will be using. We got to check out all the different brands and types, it was a lot of fun.

The two that we plan to use maily are Bum Genius Organic One Size Diaper and the Fuzzi Bunz Perfect Fit sized pocket diapers. I liked the Bum Genius Organic One Size a lot better than their other diapers. I wasn't as big of a fan of Fuzzi Bunz one size diapers as I thought I would be, but really like their sized (Perfect Fit) ones.

Feel free to PM me

Ive been thinking about the same, even watching videos of how to wash cloth nappies ( i know- sad I found this interesting blog, you could check it out and she broke it down really well...
http://www.cheekywipes.com/blog/cate...y/cloth-nappy/
I guess the hard bit will be which ones? and for me its the washing up. If I have to wash them daily, surely the energy spent- light bill etc will not be any more saving?

Any tips from mummies that use cloth nappies- how often do you wash, and how do you store the nappies if you dont wash daily (Taking into account that If I keep used nappies indoors- as its in the middle of winter ill probably create enough toxic fumes to use up as energy, and drive away my hubby!)
