Question

Sleeping.....

Does anyone know if it is ok to sleep on your right side.

Before i was pregnant i use to sleep on my front as though i was in the recovery posistion. But now i can only seem to get comfortable and fall to sleep on my right side, although every where i read say you should lay on your left side. My left hip and shoulder hurts so much because im trying to sleep on my left all the time, i do sometimes tend to fall onto my back when im asleep but then i wake up and go onto my left side, but im in pain in my sleep staying on my left all the time.

Does anyone sleep on their right.

I have read your suppose to sleep on you left becuase blood flows to the baby better.

I try and sleep on my side, but I always end up on my tummy (that's how I've always slept before I was pregnant), I better get one of those pillows cause I feel bad when I wake up on my tummy.

There are two reasons they say not to sleep on your right side or back for too long - the first is yes, it restricts the blood flow to your baby, but laying on your right side also puts the weight of the uterus, the placenta the baby + the amniotic fluid on a vital vein that brings blood to your heart. I'm not sure if that's the same for lying on your back or not though?

I read that it puts pressure on your uterus if you lie on your back..
