Ah, the power of google. There are a million different people who assume that everything you do adds to the chance of miscarriage or stillbirth. I wouldn't worry about it, dear, because right NOW you are pregnant and there are no complications, nothing seriously wrong. If complications arise just deal with them as they come, don't bother with any of this 'increased chance of miscarriage' nonsense, it's just extra stress you + the baby don't need. I reassure you your baby is most likely just fine, the human body is the strongest most adaptable thing on this planet.

Hello I am one of the ladies from third tri that has low amniotic fluid, and i did exactly the same as you and googled it "bad charlotte" it scared the jeepers out of me when i read the things you read and set me off into a pointless panic. I have regular scans and my baby is growing fine.
Just because you have low amniotic fluid doesn't always mean you have problems with ruptured membrane etc.

So as hard as it seems then we really have to try and not worry because the stress does baby more harm than good so we have to be strong for our little ones.
Also i have found that drinking 2 litres of water a day has helped my levels a little, because a small percentage may be due to dehydration of the mother.
I inevitabley spend the whole time on the toilet needing to pee, but i'll do anything i can to improve my levels.

I know exactly how you feel, i have done nothing but play the waiting game through out my whole pregnancy and it has been no fun. But good luck with your scans and PM if you ever need to talk. xxx

Thanks Charlotte :-)

I really appreciate you replying, I've been drinking loads in an attempt to increase my levels & i have a midwife appt in the morning to get checked out.
I'm feeling a lot more reassured now coz I've been ill with flu since last week (so had a temperature etc...) & this was causing me to worry about infection but i'm starting to feel better and my temp is back to normal now :-)

I haven't had any more bleeding & often feel my LO moving around so Fingers crossed he's just fine.

Thanks again & I'll let you know how i get on with the midwife tomorrow xx

Update

Hi everyone

just thought i'd update you on what happened today...

I saw the midwife this morning & she referred me to a consultant who basically told me that i'm probably gonna lose my baby

He said that when this happens at this early stage of pregnancy - MOST people will go on to lose their pregnancy. I can't believe this is happening.

He listened to the baby's heartbeat & seemed encouraged by it (he didn't expect to find one) but all he could really tell me is that this next 2wks are critical.

There is nothing they can do, so i just have to wait and hope that I don't lose anymore amniotic fluid (haven't lost any since my bleed on saturday)

I dont know what else to say - I feel numb.

I cant explain how it feels to know that my baby is moving around inside me as i write this - yet I've just been told he'll probably die & there's nothing i can do to stop it. xx
