The only plan i had was to have a water birth. Ive been informed i cant have one though as i had a section last time round due to my son being breech. Im just going to try and get as much information i can about different types of pain relief, positions, etc and then see whats right at the time. From most peoples experiences their birth plan goes straight out of the window once the day arrives anyway.

Id say if there is anything you are dead against, then right this in your birth plan. Im going to get frowned upon and thought of as a racist when they look at mine. I shall be stating that i only want people who speak english as their first language helping me. Obviousley if i need an emergency section, or something important then whoever needs to be there can be. But i go to obs appointments where i dont understand a word of whats being said to me and have to ask it to be repeated 30 times. Im not racist in the slightest, but i think during labour i need to be able to understand what someone is saying first time round, not the 30th!

I am not doing one. I don't see how I can make decisions about something I know nothing about! It's easy to say now that I only want gas and air, but come the big day who knows??

I haven't really thought much about this - when does the midwife talk to you about this?

All I know is, I don't want any pain relief apart from gas & air (unless it's completely necessary) and no medical students watching either lol!

I never had one with my first and prob won't with this one either!

I was dead set against an epidural even at 6 cms when the midwife asked me, but that went out the window a while after, so this time I'm just gonna go with the flow!

I preferably want just gas and air BUT you can't say until your in labour, everyone and every labour is different

xx

I dont think i will be doing one. I didnt last time either.
All I know is I want an epidural...and will be asking for it as soon as I arrive. I plan to stay at home for as long as I can. If i make it too late for one, then so be it, I will just have gas and air.
Other than that, im just gonna go with the flow.

I wont be bothering this time round, I made one the first time and it was completely ignored so I don't see the point! Will go with the flow, and maybe make the MW's listen to me, rather than me do everything they suggest lol

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks a birthing plan may be a bit pointless. I'll have a think about what is really important and leave it at that?
