fetal heartrate

had my 25 week appointment today all was ok measuring slightly above average, gonna have a fat baby hahaha. Did have some glucose in my urine which she said could have been down the the fact i hadnt long eaten she is gonna recheck in bout 2 weeks time.
Listened to the heartbeat and to me it sounded like a train. Does anyone know what the saying is bout the sound of the fetal heartbeat something like either a train or helicopter????

I heard the train and we heard the horse galloping. My doc said one was the placental flow, the other the babies heartbeat...dunno. Mine's HR is between 142-160 bpm

well i'd been using my doppler at home and whenever i used it by myself it sounded very odd and like a whooshing noice but whenever OH did it, it sounded like a proper heartbeat. Me being me didnt think id got it wrong, just thought maybe baby was lying funny or something.

anyway when we went to midwife, she put the doppler on and it made a whooshing noise, i was like 'ahhh, there it is' and thats when she pointed out that was the placenta, not the baby!! I felt a bit stupid after that!!
