No idea! I have the same problem, up every night sometimes as much as 15 times in one night, also waking up after only 5 hours of sleep and not being able to sleep for about a couple hours afterward (mind you I am very very tired in those couple hours). I heard somewhere that it's your body preparing itself for when the baby comes(waking you up every night and all), but that's not definite I could be wrong? Hope it helps.

I'm getting some really weird dreams that wake me up in the middle of the night and takes ages to get back to sleep. It feels uncomfortable to sleep on my stomach and I get back ache if I sleep on my back. I have to sleep on my side without putting pressure on my stomach. I hate to think how it will be when I’ve got a bigger bump!

layimg on our back squashes some nerves or veins or other I think. It should be avoided.
I was told to lay on my left if possible (it avoides squashing a vein that runs down the right of the spine), but i swap between left and right.

Maybe try swimming? I took up swimming once or twice a week for half an hour each time, and honestly I sleep so well on the days I've been swimming!! I guess I'm exhausted! But good exhausted.

I also have problem sleeping at night as my bump is getting bigger. I was told it's not good for the baby to sleep on your back, better on the side. Every night i have to move from left to right, right to left all night,so i don't get enough sleep.I find it easier to sleep during the day ( don't know why ). Even know some day I'm busy and don't take a rest but still at night i can't sleep well.

Sleeping on your back cuts off the blood supply to both you and baby when your baby gets bigger. Although don't worry about it. You WILL wake up and move before any damage is done. Trust me. You wont sleep through that. It will be uncomfortable.
All the nonsense about what positions one MUST avoid during pregnancy is enough to make anyones sleep restless.
I listen to my body. So far it hasn't let me down. I sleep on my back and I'm nearly 5 months. Still doesn't do any harm to me. I keep a pillow under one hip though. That seems to be better. I do try to keep to my sides because I know on my back is going to be uncomfortable soon. But then my hips hurt too much LOL. I'm also tossing and turning all night. It seems part and parcel of the course.

My sleep has actually been better recently, unless one of my children wakes me up due to a bad dream or what-not. Or my dog who wants out for a pee at 3:15 a.m. like this morning and here I am awake.

Been trying not to drink so much before bed as I know during the daytime I am usually in the bathroom every 10 minutes.
