25 week mw apt...sooo annoyed!!

well, i went to the mw today for my 25 week apt, its a fair way from my house so i have to get a taxi there and back which costs £6 each way. got there only to be told that the mw didnt want to see me as its not my 1st baby and i shouldnt of been made an apt til im 28 weeks

i asked if she could see me anyway seeing as i was already there and had some questions to ask but i was told she didnt have time!! i dont get how she didnt have time seeing as my apt was booked and if it had of been my 1st baby she would of seen me??? anyway, i asked her to fill out my form for my hip grant which she did and i asked her about the pain in my bum(think its my tail bone) and she said its all part if SPD which i they told me i had at my last apt. she told me i need to make an apt to see my dr to ask him to reffer me for physio and if i dont get any joy with him, the mw will reffer me at my next apt, she said she would of done it today if she had time! im so mad that they wasted my time(and £12 in taxis) and now ive got to preat about trying to get an apt to see my gp when the mw could of dont it for me today. sorry for the rant but im not a happy bunny lol x

What a nightmare!! Not much else I can add, but didn't want to read and run. I would have been fuming!

That is awful...you made an appointment...it shouldn't matter if it was your first or 10th baby!!!

that is absolutely disgusting!!! Like you said you were booked in for that appointment so why did she not have the time to see you?!?!?

Don't you apologise for ranting to us about this - I would be exactly the same!!

I agree!! And surely the 25 wk appt is important so you can get your MAT B1 and HIP grant form!?

I would complain too!!

thats the most annoying thing, i didnt make the apt. it was made for me by the last mw i saw at my last apt

My midwife service is appauling the clinic constantly runs at least an hour behind and the joke is if ur late for ur appointment time they say they cant book u in even although they are running an hour behind....

My midwife left a message on my answer phone to change appointment date a couple of weeks ago, so i arrived at 9am at the clinic after travelling thro snow.... only for there to be no sign of midwife myself and another girl waited over an hour and she didnt turn up her phone was turned off and they couldnt contact her ....

I then get a call later that afternoon to say she "forgot" and could i come back in, i went back in the afternoon and she wasnt too happy i couldnt give a urine sample, the fact i had sat for a hour that morning with a bursting bladder waiting for her didnt seem to matter

Its unreal .....

You should have seen your midwife surely thats terrible. This is my second baby and i am seeing my mw at 25 weeks. It is really shocking the treatment we get sometimes. Its like we are an inconvinience. Annoying! xx

Oh i would of been sooooo mad!... I mean if the appointment was booked why couldnt she of just give you some of her time 10 minutes means alot to someone whom has Q about pregnancy!...GRRR!
