Hi girls,

I decided to post here as I thought you might have had more experience of this than in 1st tri.....here goes.....

My EDD according to my LMP is 18th October.

I had a dating scan at about 7 weeks and the put me forward by one day to 17th Oct - I ovulated early so I wasnt suprised at this.

I had another PRIVATE NT scan today, as my hospital doesnt offer this and they put my EDD to 13th October...ie 13 + 5 not 13 +1 as I am currently.

To those of you in the UK - do you think my Dr / Midwife will change my EDD or will she leave it alone??? I'd be happy to jump forward a few days but I wonder if they will just say leave it.

Anyone??

I'm not in the UK I'm in Canada, but they were constantly throwing around my days and didn't pick a set date until about a month ago. it's insane.

Thanks - I just wondered if they would leave it with the scan not being done as part of my antenatal care with the health service....

They will more then likely leave it as the date they gave you hun, I was given 3 dates 8, 9, and 10th Feb all by diff hospitals and in the end my doc said he would leave it as my original scan EDD of the 8th Feb

Same happened to me, but they said as it wasn't morethan a week, they wouldn't change my date

Mine was also out by a couple of days but they said they wouldnt change it unless it was 7 days or more!

Look on the bright side if they dont change it LO will most likely arrive before your due date

I'm in canada. I was told to always go by the first scan date because the babies growth is more standard earlier on. The older the fetus gets the more external conditions will affect the growth. Things like what mom eats and stuff will make them grow bigger earlier for example. And the scans are meant to be within 3 days accurate.

More than likely leave it but I'd have thought later in pregnancy thats more possible - regardless of anything baby will come when he/she wants

Like others have said unless its more than a week they wont change it ( i dont think) - lets face it when do babies actually come on time anyway?!!!

i had my early scan and that gave me one date...aug 2nd then went for my private nuchal scan which bought me forward by 2 days (july 31st), then had my 12 week scan at the hospital which bought me forward 3 days from original scan, they did bring it forward so my due date is july 28th but have said after the 12 week scan they wont ever change the dates...the reason being you coud hav ea small or large baby etc
