My OH is being pretty horrible about it to be fair. He won't let me find out on my own and he says he wont change his mind (trust me he wont he's so stubborn!!) He just wants to wait until the birth. He hates the fact that people find out the sex then name the baby b4 they've seen it etc etc (no offenece to any of u who have, this is him not me)
I find it really unfair that he wont consider it though.

I think Vickie's right. Tell him you respect him not wanting to know but he has to respect that you do want to. Dont have a seperate scan - I think that would pee him off if he found out - see if he will leave the room and you find out.

Thats what I'd do - there's no way I could wait!!!

That's a difficult one...

I agree with the others that if you definately can't convince your OH otherwise it's probably best not to find out (I know I'd probably blab by mistake)...

But it's a shame that he won't come round to your way of thinking, especially as it's so obvious you want to know!! Perhaps you can come to a compromise?

Luckily for me my DH wants to know as much as I do, I think it makes planning far simpler but I also think it will help us bond more with the LO before it is born.

Good luck on your convincing mission

I don't think that's fair at all, if you want to know you have every right to know, you don't have to tell him, he doesn't have to find out.

I wouldn't go behind his back because if he found out you'd done it behind his back it would cause even more problems, but i think there should be some compromise i mean, fair enough he'd like to wait but you really want to find out!

At first i didn't want to find out but my OH talked me round to the idea, then baby wouldn't show us what it is at 20 week scan! now coming up to my 4d scan next week he's suggested we wait seen as though its not too long until baby's arrival nd for it to be a surprise which i had wanted in the first place!!! But i've put my foot down since he was the one who talked me into finding out in the first place and now i've looked forward to finding out!!

Like someone else said, yes, fair enough he doesnt want to know and thats his choice, but you want to, and thats your choice! You are willing to compromise by finding out and not telling him, so he should be willing to compromise too! oooh men are nasty sometimes!

Could you call your hospital before the scan and explain your situation, then somehow get them to tell you after the scan if you call them? Just clutching at straws here! Our maternity unit is quite small so you generally see the same people but they must get people in all the time who are in a similar situation to you.

Fight your corner hun and I really hope you get to find out

I don't quite think you should book a scan behind his back...although I find it funny...
If he finds out he'll be mad because you lied to him...
But I don't understand why he won't let you find out!I know how terrible it'd be for you two wait, cause I would just die!

Maybe you could tell your sonographer privately to tell you after the scan.Tell him that there is something you have to ask her and then when he leaves...
