antenatal classes

hey girlies, just wondering how many of you are going to be going to antenatal classes? I don't really want to go, not because I don't think they are helpful but because I kno I will feel uncomfortable and embarrassed, I kno everyone is there for the same reason and will be doing the same thing, but I just really don't think I will enjoy the experience! did anyone who already have children feel like this and end up going? or is there any first time mums who feel the same?!x thanks girlies!x

No option for me to vote in the poll:
No, not going because I've been told it's pointless by my friends who've done it :-)

I can not wait to get to the antenatal classes! lol I want to know everything, what to expect, things to come, best positions etc etc
I know it will be embarrassing but like you said we are all there for the same reason! Hopefully you will go, cause they do have lots and good information!

I feel the same way, especially because I'm an awkward age- I'm 19 so wouldn't really 'fit' at teenage classes round here. I already know that because I'm part of a study for first time mums 19 and under, and the nurse who comes to see me says I'm the only one who works FULL STOP- but I feel like older mums will look down on me!

I wouldn't worry... I'm 17 and the ones I've done so far have been fine, everyone has been really lovely =] xxx

Oh I forgot to add- I probably will go to parentcraft, but I'm dreading it. I'm only going for something to fill a bit of my 10 weeks off before the baby is due

All of the above to be honest, it's our first so we really want to go and are really excited about them....it'll be a sign we're getting close/real! But at the same time I am nervous about them, I don't like role play etc which apparently some do, I'd rather sit, watch, listen, absorb etc etc.

We're doing both NHS and NCT.
