Water retention

Hiya. I've asked in the first tri about this, but no luck. Anyone any ideas?

Has anyone been suffering with water retention? Mine's getting quite bad. My rings are getting tight which is ridiculous at this stage! I've been on at least 30 minutes walk everyday and drinking at least 2 litres of water a day. No caffeine, no fizzy drinks. I've been doing everything I can think of, but my ankles now look like my mums! Anyone any ideas how I can shift this?!!!

I'm not sure if you can get rid of it tbh. I'm gettin it in my ankles already. I do find it helps if at night,I sit up on the sofa and put my feet across so my whole leg is level. Think must b somat to do with blood flow.

Honey, if you are suffering water retention this early, you might want to give your midwife a call. Water retention normally gets bad in third trimester, not usually this early.

I have been getting a bit to. I tend to sit with legs up at night when on sofa to help blood flow. I have also now got some support tights/socks to wear during day to encourage blood flow - got them free from docs - maybe worth a try??? Also maybe cut down on any salt in your diet as this can encourge water retention

xx

The posts weren't meant to get you into a panic. It could be normal but it's just better to get it checked out though.

Thanks for your advice. I've phoned the m/w and she's told me to go to the drs this afternoon and get my blood pressure checked out. I'm sure all is fine, but it is best to be on the safe side.
