i still lie on my back it doesnt make me feel dizzy or ill and its when i feel baby the most. if i lie on my sides sometimes i feel nothing and dont feel pregnant but as soon as i lie on my back i feel lots of baby kicks. i have just bought myself one of those wedged side pillows though so i start sleeping my left side. i remember from my last pregnancy i tried so hard to sleep on my sides (always woke up on my back though ) and by god my hips hurt so bad and my legs would go numb. this time i havent had that

who knows x

The biggest fear about laying on your back is that there is a major artery that when you are late in your pregnancy your baby can lay on and lower the amount of blood going to your baby. BEFORE you freak ou, your body has natural defenses against this.. if you are awake you will feel dizzy so you will move.. and if you are asleep your body will move so you can breathe. My doctor said that some women can lay on their back the whole pregnancy if they prop themselves up with a few pillows. Every body is different. Hope this helps!
