I am going to have my husband and my dad. My mum does not want to be there and I do not want to be left alone with this being my first. My dad is good at keeping me calm and he watched me being born all them years ago..lol

most places allow two depending on type of birth and hospital. if you are having a Caesarean then you are generally only allowed one. get in touch with your hospital good luck x

i think my hospital allows 2.

when i gave birth to my daughter i had my mum, husband and sister there. my sister didnt really do anything just stood around, my mum was a pain actually. i was really expecting her to put the midwife in her place when she was being a madam but she didnt she just sort of rolled over and took it. she kept giving me pethadine through the drip when i kep telling her no so dh got really angry with her and told her to pack it in. dh was the best actually. i thought i would want my mum but it didnt really help. for emotional support it did because of the situation i was giving birth under (my little girl had gone to sleep) but from the actual physical act of giving birth i found my dh the best and he spoke up when he wasnt happy about how i was being treated.

my mum is a little put out that i havent asked her to be here with me for this birth but i know what to expect this time and only want dh here. we are hoping this time will be a much happier experience and we want to keep that all to ourselves xx

I am having DH and my Mom. Before this happens my Mom and I are going to have a little talk about the fact that I have three tattoos that she knows nothing about. My Mom is Arabic so wish me luck...
