Aww try not to let it upset you too much! My DH was the same, barely reacted to the few kicks he felt and nearly always too impatient to try to feel her anyway. It upset me a lot at the time too, it was only when he picked out little outfits for her that he really seemed excited, up until he finally got to see an ultrasound late in third tri. When he saw her little face the first time I watched him fall in love with her right then and there, and now he's the proudest daddy in the world even though he hasn't met our little girl yet. Men are just a little slow to realize it's real!

Mine was exactly the same - unless it kicks within 2 seconds he takes his hand away. They are the wierdest creatures ever!!

I wouldn't give up on him just yet. It's possible he had a bad day, or his mind was elsewhere

My husband felt the baby kicking for the first time, and the morning after he was telling his mum it was "a little disappointing" I could have killed him at that moment; the baby was only small at that point, so it takes the poor bugger a lot of energy to kick enough for us to feel it. I don't know what he expected; some kind of trapeze artist to be performing on command

But you know what; my husband's face is a picture now that the kicks are harder. It may just take him a while to realise how big a milestone this is. Hang in there.

Actually it's quite normal cause men don't have the same relationship with baby as we have. My OH is really happy about the kid but he also didn't said much when I let him felt his first moves. He still doesn't say much but at night when we go to bed he puts his hand on my bump and feels the baby.
They also won't be as happy as women are when firsth teeth come or when baby does something new.
Don't stop informing him. That's the way you can let him and baby bond.
