Under Consultant Care - what to expect - Page 2

My midwife told me my BMI was seriously high when I went for my booking appointment, without even measuring me!!! so I have no idea how she came to her consluision......I think she put me in the 47 range!! Now I know I'm a bit chubby and I have put weight on since becoming preg (obviously!!) BUT my pre pregnancy size was UK size 10 tops and 14 bottoms.....I personally don't see how someone with those measurements and be classed as clinicaly obese.... ANYWAY (sorry to rant!!)
I saw my consultant a few weeks back and all she did was check my BP and ask if I wanted to talk about healthy eating and then re-booked me for another pointless appointment for 3 months time!!!!

i am meant to be under consultant lead care because my daughter was stillborn. if you have a good consultant he/she will see you at every appointment at hospital but if your consultant is sh*t like mine you will not see them. mine refuses to do any of my scans even though i am high risk and thinks its acceptable to let me see a junior doctor when i have my hospital appointments and i have had to complain through PALs just to get him to agree to speak to me about my scan results and offer the support which he is meant to.

hopefully if you are high risk the will look after you but in my experience they dont care at my hospital xx
