Hi, just wondering if anyone's NOT going to pay to have a 4D scan of baby? It seems a fair few people ive spoken to, or seen on discussion boards like this, are getting 4D scans and to be honest i feel a tad left out as i doubt we'd have the money to get one. We've put a lot of money into our home recently so its ready for the little one, and have scraped enough together for a week away for our wedding anniversary (not abroad)...so even £100 or whatever is a lot for us right now.

Im very excited about my 20 week scan on the NHS, and will be pleased to see him/her then...but part of me feels as if im going to miss out on something here im probably worrying over nothing, so someone tell me to stop being silly!

I am having a 4 D scan but only because DH desperately wants one. Completely understand the money issues. Honestly if I could move into another place (preferably from renting to owning) I would absolutely be in heaven!

I'm not getting one, for pretty much the same reasons that £100+ could buy something for the baby, so as much as i would love to get a 4D scan done i am just going to wait until my lil bundle arrives.

The 20wk scan was amazing although she completely didn't co-operate! Hope you really enjoy and don't forget to post the pics!

your not being silly at all! im getting one this time but only because this will be my last pregnancy and ive never had one beforeI dont think it makes the pregnancy any less speacial if you dont have one (like i said i didnt have one with my others) and theres so many other things to look forward too

The experience of the scan is magical no matter how much you pay for it...don't worry yourself one bit...

I have 3D/4D but I go to a private obgyn so they only do those,plus we in us have a different system...

I don't think we are going to have one, unless it is a gift. Plus, based on a surgery I had eons ago, they are concerned about my cervix so I have to get a regular (free) scan every two weeks from week 14-24, so I'll get to see my LO a bunch. Like you guys I would much rather save that money for stuff we need.

We just dont want to spoil the surprise of seeing what baby looks like... we'd rather wait till its born!

Your definately not alone & your 20/21 week scan will be just as magical

I am not getting one so do not feel left out. A mother of three in our family said that getting one kinda took away the surprise of what her baby looked like when she was born. I would have to somewhat agree with her. BUT I don't want to know the sex either. Don't feel bad, I think that you are already a responsible parent for looking after the baby's needs first!

i never had a 4D scan with my son and only had the 12 weeks scans then. I also dont think i'll be getting one with this 1 either, although i had a scan at 11 weeks and the midwife flicked it over to 4D for s so i did get a little taste of what baby looks like! x
