I cant wait for my 20 week nhs scan either, however i am getting a 4d scan but its only because we dont plan on having anymore children ( at the moment!) and ive hassled my husband sooo much hes finally given in! Its going to be very costly though because i live on a island and have to travel to the mainland, the equipment heres not that sophiscated!!
Dont feel bad your not getting one, you'll be more surprised to see your little one when he/she arrives not like us that will kinda know what baby looks like before it arrives. Maybe it'll spoil the birth abit but i have to have one!! xx

I won't be getting a 4D scan either, not down to money worries, simply because I have 2 friends that both had them and to be honest their scans didn't resemble the babies once born, even though they loved the experience they did say they wouldn't pay to have another one if there was a 'next time' i've decided not to find out the sex also, as I think this kills the element of surprise, being a first time mum I want something to spur me on when I'm pushing lol

Hi, I´m not having a 3D or 4D scan, just the bog standard ones. Anything a bit different you have to pay for and go private here and we can´t afford anything like that.

We are not having a 4D scan. I had my 20 week scan today and it was wonderful to see LO bouncing around, but I wont have another scan unless medically necessary because I got myself in such a state worrying about what may be wrong that I didnt sleep at all last night and have been really snappy with OH for a few days. Also he/she wouldn't co operate for most of the measurements the sonographer was trying to take, so it was just as well we didn't want to find out the sex!

My fiance really wants to get one, but I don't want to spend the money, so we're most likely not getting one. Also, we already know the sex, I'd prefer to have the baby's looks be a surprise.

Mine was a requested early bday gift from OH, and I asked for the package with two visits.

Even if it wasn't a gift I think we would have gone through and done it anyhow, but just the one visit.

While my DH and I could afford to pay for one, we decided we just don't like them. We had only one real sonogram at 25 1/2 weeks, and it was just amazing. We didn't feel the need to see more of our LO before we meet him or her.

Aww, I felt the same way when I was in the 2nd Tri, everyone seemed to be getting the 4D scans but I just couldn't afford it. I felt alittle left out too.

I'm not getting one either.. Well not if I have to pay. I have more important things to buy with the money that I'd be forking out for one lol

I was told that it's part of my hospitals small deposit that I must pay because my Medical aid doesn't cover that (they cover all the other expenses) If that is the case then I'll get it done. But I'm not too bothered really.

Im not getting one iether , really no need tbh, as i had one with my first only due to complications and thats the only scan they offered and daughter didnt look like the picture anyway lol.

I too think £100 is steep for a scan expecailly when there are lots of things u could pick up for baby with that money! DOnt feel left out plenty of us on here that havent or dont want one
