I had my Glucose test yesterday and thought i'd let you know (incase anyone off for one doing) its not bad at all, they just take blood when you first go in, drink a small sugary drink , wait two hours and then have more blood taken. I rang back today and got results which were fine

The worst thing about it is the boring two hour wait , so make sure you take some reading material! Oh and i have crap veins apparently, although one of the dopey nurses tried getting the needle back through the same hole the first lot was taken from

oh, i didnt know you had a glucose test-is this when your around 26 weeks then?

I think it depends on the area you are in, my OB does the test at 28 weeks.

i had mine on monday at 30 weeks and got eft with big brusies on both arms at least the drink wasnt so bad. take a pillow forur back as the hospital chairs are not comfy xxx

Had mine about a week ago and when the stupid nurse drew my blood she bruised me sooooo bad, the sad part is I have great veins and it is super easy to draw my blood. I had to go back Monday and have the 3 hour test and I was still so sore even though the nurse that time was GREAT at taking blood it hurt sooooo bloody much! Here's hoping all comes back well! Glad yours came out well and wasnt a horrible expeience for you. When I had the test done for the other 2 it wasn't bad at all.

yes it's teh diabetes test. usually between 25 and 28 weeks ish.

My doc gives me the drink to take home I think. I think I have to not eat or drink for 12 hours, drink this drink and then come in an hour or whatever later for the blood to be taken.

Mostly I'm worried about this 12 hour non eating business!!

I haven't had this mentioned to me. I know about the test it's just my gynae hasn't brought it up with me. He only said at my last scan that there was a trace of glucose in my urine but since I'd eaten a chocolate recently that may be the case. He said if another urine test shows glucose then they'll send me for a blood test.
But they checked my blood for all that when I had a blood test the other week.
I don't want any more blood tests They only left me a couple of drops last time.

poor you! They take my blood every month. I feel like a pin cushion!
Last time they were really silly and took my blood first then the blood pressure - it was sky high after I'd been stressing about the needles!!!! They all thought I had something wrong until I pointed out what could have been the issue! hehehe. What a wuss I am.
