My notes from the 20 week scan say anterior, but I asked at my gender scan and they said posterior and pointed to it lying against my spine. Can it have moved around??

Thanks ladies, it seems we have more women here that have an Anterior Placenta, like A3my said I always thought Posterior was more common.

Interesting, thanks to those who knew and participated

I voted Anterior because I know that is where B's is at. A's isn't exactly posterior, but not Anterior eitehr. I think it is more on the side (technical term I think is lateral).

Sneaking over from 3rd tri
I have an anterior one and just wanted to let you know that this did not affect feeling movements at all for me. I felt little flutters at 16 weeks- although these were only at the side, then kicks from 18 weeks which got stronger and stronger over time. Could also feel her from the outside at about 20 weeks. Might also mention my placenta is very low so that could be why, but not sure xx

3rd tri also... lol mine is posterior.i talked to my midwife and she informed me that anterior is the more common one. Also ladies, if you have a posterior placenta (like me), stock up on those heat packs now lol because MW said when bub lies with their spine along yours, you are more likely to suffer severe backache when you move into 3rd tri sucks i know lol, oh and most likely will have a backache labour too

Complete placenta previa for me . Really hope it moves before baby is due, but the sonographer seemed pretty certain it wouldn't...
