Yep I'd say that's exactly what it is. Are you using a lotion for stretchmarks? That's what I use and it really helps me with the itching.

I posted this reply to a girl on the Obstetric Cholestasis thread last night, though I wasn't going to as i thought it was a silly question, but you never know it may help you:

Probably a silly question but you aren't using Palmers Cocoa Butter for stretchmarks are you?

I used that from around 6 weeks to 16 weeks and during that time (though not straight away) I developed a bright red rash and was insanely itchy across my belly, back, tops of my legs and my arms. I would wake up covered in blood where I had been scratching in my sleep and it would frequently wake me up. My mw sent me for blood tests for OC and thankfully they were negative. I happened to mention the cocoa butter and she told me that lots of women she had seen had been allergic to it and told me to stop using it right away. I used Aqueous Callamine lotion for a couple of weeks which instantly helped with the itching and now just use aqueous cream and (so far) I haven't got any stretch marks and my skin is lovely and soft. Oh and I don't have the insane itching anymore!

Thanks you all, my DH snaps at me everytime he catches me scratching bc he heard that scratching the skin actually makes tiny tears that can turn into stretchmarks...so I feel like a whipped puppy dog when I get caught scratching

And as far as the lotion goes....I used Cocoa Butter lotion for about 2 weeks and I got these little red bumps all over my belly, chest, thighs, and lowerback, so I actually started using Johnsons Baby Oil gel when I get out of the shower and before bedtime and my skin is soooooo soft!! I swear by this stuff, and yea, I have some stretchmarks but my mom did too so I figure if I'm gonna get them I'm gonna get them, but at least I'll have a soft belly when/if that happens! lol
