I don't want OH parents being near bean after smoking - Page 4

My Mum and her partner smoke and I just told them I did not want it done round the baby. They normally go out side to smoke while visiting and are coming up for a week when my LO is born and they have said they said they are going on patches. My Mum smoked while pregnant with me and my 2 sisters and although I finally grew to an average size one of my sisters is VERY small and the other has a mental problems and me and one sister has dyslexia and I don't think there is any way to know for sure if smoking is what caused it all but it could well have had an effect. I can say that me and my sisters were all small at birth due to smoking and my sisters had health issues as babies (including one born dead and brought back, the other died a few time while a baby and was brought back). Basically, I don't think you are being unreasonable and you never know they may understand like my Mum did and take action without any complaint.

Offending them would be my LAST concern. They should understand, and if they don't, that's THEIR problem. My mom, and one of my BIL and his wife smoke. There is NO WAY they are going near my baby if I detect a hint of the smoke on them. I don't care if it hurts their feelings or whatever, BABY COMES FIRST! I will hold my baby and run away from them if I have to!
