This may be no help to you, but hubby is getting the snip! Condoms just didn't seem to be effective for us in December. LOL

Until I read your post I hadn't even thought about it, as so caught up in the rollercoster of being pregnant. Hopefully the midwife will be able to give me some advice. With a new baby in the house I might forget to take the pill at the same time every day so perhaps thats not the best idea for me

Hi, I think i'll be having the depo ( injection every 3 months) you do gain alittle weight with it but you only have to remember once every 3 months which like you've all said taking the pill the same time evry day will be impossible!!!
The only down side to this is they tell you to wait 6 weeks after giving birth because it can cause you to bleed alot, dont think sex will be on the cards in those 6 weeks anyway!!!! xx

Actually, there's a no scalpel procedure that is less painful, etc. We've talked about me getting my tubes tied when I have my C-section, but I've heard so many stories about how your period is worse after, I've heard a few where some women have gotten pregnant, etc. He's the one who's elected to have it done so I say go for it. LOL

Besides, he's the one with a total of almost 6 kids. I really have almost 3.

I can see why you don't have faith in birth control.

Wel... I tried the pill when I was younger, but I have a brain like a sieve so I worried that I'd fall, and had the advice of the Depo injection. It was absolutely brilliant !! No periods, was only done once every three months, wonderful. But when we decided to try for our first it took 18 months as it really mucks things up, but good if you are thinking of having no more. The only other thing, is that they won't let you have it for too many years, as they think it may cause brittle bone disease if taken for too long.
This time I'm going for the Mirena coil after bubs is born. It's as effective as sterilization, and also stop, or lessens your periods, and lasts for 5 years.
