I'm Currently Feeling: | When I first got on birth control (18 years old) I did the Depo for 6 months and bled the whole time, gained weight and was really moody (not in a good way at all). After that, I switched to a birth control shot called the Lunel (sp?) injection and was on it for awhile, but then it got recalled. So after all of this, I decided to try the pill. I started taking Yasmin. I'm not really sure how long I was on it but I do know it was for at least four years or more. I loved it. I had regular periods, I could lose weight on it, it helps your skin and it didn't give me mood swings. I was really hesitant about taking it at first because, like you, I'm horrible about remembering to take pills but I worked it out to take my pill at lunch time because I never forget to eat so it worked for me. However, when I got off the pill 10/4/06, my body was so irregular for such a long period of time. I wasn't even regular when we conceived our LO. I want to get back on the pill after giving birth just to prevent getting pregnant again until I'm ready for baby # 2. I will be consulting my doctor about the regularity of periods and asking if my body could get messed up again. Sorry for such a long post, but I thought maybe being on all these different birth controls and being on them for so long, that is why my body reacted the way it did when I stopped using them. Good luck on finding the right method for you. Be sure to consult your doctor before taking anything, they will have better options for you as they will know your medical history. Good luck. |

I must say it kind of wrecks the mood...."Wait, we need a condom!" Besides, I got pregnant in December from using a condom.
I used to be on the pill but they gave me enormous headaches when my period was here. I changed the type of pill but then I didn't get my period and I didn't think that was right.
I always heard too that the implant causes weight gain and I didn't want that at all.
Anyhow, we are pretty much done with our family so husband can get fixed! LOL |
