Gestational diabetes test

Hello all. At my last doctor's appointment I was told that it was time to do that dreaded gestational diabetes test. I was looking at all the different locations I can go to and realized that one was open on Saturday. Anyways, I just have to drink this stuff and wait an hour to find out the results. For those of you who have been through this already, can you tell me what to expect and what I should do tonight to kind of prepare? I am so worried about failing it. The nurse did tell me to take it first thing in the morning and not eat or drink anything other than water. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as always. Thanks ladies.

Just follow her instructions and you'll be fine All you do is drink and orange soda type drink (thats up here in Canada though, it could be a different kind there) in 5 minutes and they you sit for an hour and they take blood after. Bring a friend, or a book to keep you occupied. Good luck! I'm sure you'll results will come back fine

I posted earlier I just had mine and I failed so now I get to do the 3 hour test. I was told after failing the first one by 5 tiny points that I should have eaten alot of pasta & potato ect the day before? Never heard that before but the lady said I prolly wouldn't have failed had I done that. The test itself isnt bad you drink the orange or fruit punch stuff and wait an hour then they draw your blood and home you go. At my office they will call you if it comes out too high. Hope all goes well with you!!!!!!
