Calf swelling

So here I am, with the exception of morning sickness in first tri and some tiredness in first and second tri, I was breezing through relatively unscathed. No stretchmarks to speak off, no headaches or heartburn when I've notice that my beloved uggs have left indentations in my calves. This worries me (on a purely costmetic level you understand) because my best friend had feet the size of balloons when she was pregnant and couldn't wear boots or work shoes without her legs popping over the top. I can't wear flip flops to work!!! Does everyone get some leg swelling? Reassure me that you don't wear flip flops...

If they have noticeably swollen I would call the doc or midwife as pregnant women are more at risk from blood clots, don't mean to scare you but it's always better to be safe than sorry!

I've had issues with swelling since 1st tri. I recommend a good pair of compression stockings. (And make sure you mention it to your MW too). My MW says that it is important for me to put my legs up at the end of the day to help them drain and told DH to do more stuff for me.

I don't have any leg pain or anything, have had low bp since first taken by my mw and it's consistent in both legs so I don't think it's a clot but I have a mw appointment next tuesday. I do think water retention is common in second tri but I will def. keep an eye on it. Thanks for the info ladies, much appreciated.
