Exclamation

advice needed

for the past hour and half - 2 hours i've been getting a pain that started in the right side of my belly, its a shooting pain now its reaching below my belly...

I called the emergency gynea clinic and she advised me to take 2 paracetamol and wait a couple of hours and see if they work, if they dont ive got to go in but she sort of tried to put me off going in as the wait is 4-6 hours and

"it could be due to it being your 1st pregnancy and most first timers find most normal aches and pains frightening"

seriously though this isnt a little discomfort it hurts, im not constipated i dont need a wee im not hungry im at a loss what it is.... any one got any ideas apart from me being a hypercondriac?
Im quite worried as ive had a few bleeds earlier on in my pregnancy. nobody is home, and OH is at work.

Sounds like your uterus is growing and you might be having a little round ligament pain.

My round ligament pain is really bad sometimes. I got off the sofa the other night and got a shooting pain around one side of my bump and it was enough to make me sit back down and huddle into a ball. I still had it the next day.

I hope this is all it is hun

I really hope it's just stretching pains. Or, early braxton hicks even? Please try not to worry yourself too much. I was in the labour ward at 19+6 because I had them convinced my pains were labour ones! I'm still here, so I hope yours is just a case of stretching too.

I got paranoid loads when I was pregnant, especially when I bled a few times.. so I can understand why you are scared. It's daunting when you don't know what to expect and sometimes the midwives can be too casual as they are so used to dealing with pregnancy issues.

I know it's easy to say, but try to stay calm, have a warm bath and get lots of rest.. see your doctor if you don't feel any better.

Hope you're ok.

It sounds like ligament pain to me too. Hope everything is ok, but if you feel like something is wrong don't hesitate to go in and get it checked out.
