Is this heartburn?

I've never had heartburn before, so I don't really know what I'm looking for. The symptoms I've had aren't really mentioned on the websites

Yesterday I had a burning sensation in the back of my throat. It wasn't in my chest or anything, just like I had hot food stuck at the back of the throat. No amount of cool water would help. Does this sound like heartburn to you?

I also dont' want to be taking heartburn remedies if it's not heartburn. No point putting chemicals inside me needlessly.

If it is, does anyone know the foods/drink that aggravates it? I want to stay away from them if possible, but stupidly I was drinking OJ last night before I remembered how much acid it contains

I too have never had heartburn but my sister and OH always get it they said it is burning in the throat there is a thing you can google called the acid reflux diet which tells you what to avoid hope this helps x

hi i get this too but i find a glass of cold milk helps!
