Unhappy

Scan Did it go well ?? Not sure

Well.... Here goes. I booked in last week for a 16 week scan today. The last scan I had at 12+3 weeks put me at 11+2 but they didnīt change my due date or anything. I booked this scan cos DH missed the 12 week one. Following so far?

Anyway.... went for the scan and sonographer was taking measurements, he was taking Head Circumference and BDP?? Turned to me and said "thereīs no way youīre 16 weeks pregnant" he then started looking worried So now Iīm worried. All the way through the scan I was worrying, didnīt enjoy it at all. Anyway, at the end of the scan he said that everything looked normal for being about 15 weeks pregnant. He then looked at my previous notes and said that his details correspond with the previous ones (growth wise) then I was relieved. BUT...... Got home and looked at my notes and they said that the HC was measuring 13 + 6 weeks!!!! Worried again!!!! I know I may have been wrong with my dates up to a week but 2 weeks!!!!! I donīt know what to think. Doc seemed happy though, Iīm sooooo confused, sorry for the long rant, anyone been through anything similar??

Anyway, if all goes well, IīM HAVING A BOY!!!!

Thanks for reading x

You may have ovulated later than you thought. Also those scans are not 100%, all babies grow at different rates, so the best they can do is an estimate. I'm sure everything is fine

Congratulations on your little boy!

Babies all grow at different rates, If both sonographers agree that your a week below your own dates that not too far to be out on your dates. If the baby appears well and they were happy try not to worry, you just have to wait alittle longer until you see him for the first time!!

My babies always been measuring two weeks too small.. She's still in the right sizes for her dates (on the very bottom line of averages).

Do you have your HC? I could do a quick check on my chart and see if it's normal?

I'm sure the doctor would've said something if s/he was concerned.

I had a terrible experience at my scan last week...and I was told i was a week further gone and must've had a period then too. Our bodies are strange but fascinating too

A Head Circumference of 108MM (according to the size chart in my personal maternity record) is more than normal for 15 weeks! It would even just be within the range for 16 weeks too..

I think, like myself, you just have a small baby.

Congrats on your blue bump

I'd try not to worry (I know that's easier said than done)!! But I'm sure they would have said something if you need to be concerned.
