I went for these last Wednesday. After getting impatient I phoned my gynae for the results.
He's away on leave and his receptionist doesn't really understand how to read the results but she said that everything said negative.

Now this was to check my blood count etc and to check for downs syndrome and neural defects..


Good?? I thought negative would be good? Is it? LOL

Umm, the results normally tell you what your chance is out of a certain number of people of your baby having downs. I didn't have the test so I don't know anything about it really. That's all I know..

I got got a negative or postive result for spina biffda and then my chances of downs and edward in the forms of numbers i.e 1 in 700 chance.

Crap!

Oh well I'll have to wait till Monday.

At least I know that a negative results on a test for Hepetitis is a good thing

Mine all said negative although I had a separate blood count test done.
I think that you are sent a letter / phone call quite soon if there are any probs, they don't waste time at this stuff! Hope that helps xx xx

Thanks everyone. I'm going to phone on Monday. That's when he's getting back. I do remember him telling me at my last check up that he'd be away.

He normally phones me with results ASAP so I'm sure he may just beat me to it.

You just reminded me that I have to get mine done sometime soon! I have the paperwork to go and do it but my doctor said to wait 2 weeks until I go. That was on the 19th of March.
