Been to GP

And I have been diagnosed with SPD and signed off for 2 weeks for now and I have a big box of codeine.

What are my chances of now having a water birth?!

Oh - sorry to gate crash but does accupuncture really work ??-I had terrible SPD last pregnancy and am only 14 weeks today with this pregnancy and already I can hardly manage up a few stairs. Sorry if too nosy, but do you pay private or does your physio do it or what? If private, how would I go about finding a reputable therapist?

thanks xx

i find it really helps me ive used it alot when i used to ballet dance! we pay private for it but its really reasonable! if you ask your midwife if theres some one the nhs who does pregnacey accupunture then you can get it n the nhs!

i just googled accupuncutre in pregnacey and it came up then just rang up and checked they did it! xx

Did your gp prescribe the codeine? I thought it was contraindicated in pregnancy?

Yeah she did. She said it's OK to take at this stage as long as you're closely monitored (ie I have to go back next week and I am only on a lowish dose). They start to worry if you still need it in late pregnancy as it can cause breathing problems for the baby.

I've been offered physio and accupuncture on the NHS by my midwife! I haven't done it yet because it's not gotten any worse recently like I expected it to as I got bigger but if it does get worse I think i'll give it a go!
