Because the chemical in your skin (forget the name, but it is what makes you tan) goes a bit haywire when you are pregnant - some woman also get patches of tan or blotches on their face.

Mm mine is like a dark brown line right from my lower abdomen all the way up by my chest then disappears. It's darker in some spots to and not completely straight all the way up, oh the joys of being pregnant. Then again I'm pretty damn dark skinned as it is.
